Over 100 Full-Length Films from all over the World

On the agenda of the 28th Festival: rare and thought-provoking works that challenge the status-quo from around world.

On top of the international films in competition, the previews, the educational workshops, and the overview of Italian cinema, the FIFA will also organize a new competition - that of the top European films. As the Festival, which is far from some obsolete and overused romantic clichés, is aimed at looking out onto the world and onto directors whose works are unfortunately not often commercially distributed.

Since its creation, the FIFA has presented more than a thousand films that were not released in Belgium and received several hundreds of prominent figures from the cinema such as Bernadette Lafont, Claude Lelouch, Andrzej Zulawski, Nathalie Baye, Audrey Tautou, Marion Cotillard, Laetitia Casta, Jeanne Moreau, Charlotte Rampling, John Madden, Lauren Bacall, Valéria Golino, Josiane Balasko, Gérard Darmon, Gérard Jugnot, Patrick Bruel, and many others from all over the world.

The 7th Art for 7 Euros

This year again, the FIFA is offering you a week of relaxation, pleasure and discoveries. You will get the opportunity to watch over one hundred films from the four corners of the globe at the Plaza Art and the Imagix Mons cinemas or at the "Théâtre Royal" of Mons; on the gala occasions! The Festival offers a varied programming suitable for everybody. There will be educational workshops for children, retrospectives, meetings with film-makers and actors, as well as afternoons dedicated to seniors. And, as culture needs to be accessible to everybody, the price of a single cinema ticket is only 7 euros and the six-show Pass will only cost you 20 euros!

Cine-Village

An exhibition, which will be held in the Village of the Festival, at the Lotto Mons Expo, will allow you to immerse yourself in the ever modern work of Pierre Etaix, an artist who works as an actor, an author and a producer. In order to help you dive into the artist's work, you will be granted access to unreleased material, personal objects, posters and drawings. You will find out a multifaceted world where humour is always part of the background.

The Village is also the place where you will be able to sway your hips to the beats of African drums during the North African evening or to taste transalpine specialities during the Italian reception. You will be able to take part in all those festivities just by showing your cinema ticket of the day at the entrance.
